Podcast Guest Prep Guide

Thank you for joining me on She Says It! I’m excited to share your story and conversation with our audience. My goal is to create a relaxed, thoughtful space where we can explore your experiences, insights, and perspectives in a way that feels authentic to you.

Before the Interview

Review the Interview Outline

I’ll send a list of discussion topics and questions beforehand. These aren’t meant to be rigid—they simply help guide our conversation.

Test Your Technology

For the best audio quality, please:

  • Use headphones or earbuds if possible

  • Record in a quiet space

  • Close unnecessary apps and browser tabs

  • Check your internet connection before we begin

My Interview Process

Step 1: Research & Preparation

Before recording, I spend time reviewing your work, website, social media, and any information you’ve shared so I can ask thoughtful questions and create a meaningful conversation.

Step 2: Conversation Design

I create a custom interview outline based on:

  • Your story

  • Your expertise

  • Topics that will resonate with listeners

  • Opportunities for authentic discussion

Step 3: Recording Day

Our conversation is designed to feel natural—not scripted. We’ll begin with a few easy questions to settle in before diving deeper into your experiences, ideas, and insights.

Please remember, you will be recorded and the recording will be used on Spotify.

Step 4: Editing & Production

After recording, I edit the episode for clarity, pacing, and listener experience while preserving the authenticity of our conversation.

Step 5: Promotion

Once the episode is complete, you’ll receive:

  • Your Spotify episode link

  • A collab post on Instagram once the episode goes live on Wednesday at 9 am PST

  • Continuous promotion on She Says It (includes newsletters and social media posts)

What Makes a Great Conversation?

The best podcast moments happen when guests:

  • Share real stories

  • Speak from personal experience

  • Offer lessons you’ve learned

  • Allow space for honesty and reflection

  • You don’t need perfect answers. You just need to show up as yourself.

Recording Day Checklist

✓ Quiet recording space

✓ Headphones or earbuds

✓ Water nearby

✓ Strong internet connection

✓ A few minutes to settle in before we start
